Amy Brenna held a short training session on work/life efficiency for my staff. Her advice, analysis and techniques were a great way to bring another level of organization to the often fast-paced, hectic world of local government. We were particularly impressed by her ability to take these lessons and show how we can apply them directly to experiences that members of my staff have all the time. She likes to say that 15 minutes of planning saves an hour of work – even just a brief session with Amy gave my office the tools we need to do our jobs better and faster.

I really enjoyed the Time Management workshop.  There’s no time wasted on theory, instead the focus is on giving you practical tools and skills to help you manage your time more efficiently, especially with prioritizing, planning and scheduling. The exercises were simple yet revealing of the areas where I need to improve.   I feel like I can now move forward and accomplish things more effectively. It’s money well spent.

Amy Brenna has conducted efficiency workshops for our graduate students for the last three years, because her workshops help them juggle all the demands in their lives.  Many of our students have a full-time job, go to graduate school at night, and have families too.  They are stretched thin, and the skills they learn in Brenna Workshops give them the support they need to do well in all three arenas while keeping the stress level down.  Brenna Workshops has become an essential component in the skills training we provide for our students.

I am a 2nd year part-time student at New York University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. I am also the recipient of a Rudin Fellowship. I began my program last year and I cannot tell you what a challenge and shock it was to suddenly have to balance work, family and school. Due to my work commitments I found myself not able to pull the all nighters I did as an undergraduate, and struggled to achieve the high grades that had come so naturally the first time around.

Now a Wagner year wiser and calmer, I signed up and attended the seminar offered by NYU called Strategies for Juggling School, Work, and Personal Time conducted by Amy Brenna. I am very thankful that this seminar was made available to me and my fellow students. It was quite reaffirming to know that there are methods to the madness of working and studying and it has given me even more confidence to tackle another year. Ms. Brenna was excellent and her professional execution and suggestions will extend not only to school, but also to my work. It validated that a science does exists in choosing to go back to school while working and staying sane! Above all, it reminded me that life does not have to go on hiatus in the process (well those bad TV shows have to be shelved, but I can live with that).

This is very useful for full-time students who have to juggle school and work.  I liked the mention of scheduling fun time!
